Our new Jorgensen Wedding Album

THURSDAY, 19 MARCH 2010

A little while ago we posted on our blog the design of our new Jorgensen album and the real thing has now arrived. It has taken us a little while to actually order the album but only 4 weeks later it arrived from Australia and we are loving it. Very much.

All our other albums are storybook type, with the prints mounted directly on to the page. The Jorgensen album is a matted album, with the photos mounted behind single or double layered mats. But the beauty of Jorgensen's albums is that they allow for a combination of the two styles, even on the same page.

The actual size of our album when closed is approx. 17" x 10" and about 3" deep. Different sizes, colours, covers etc. are available. The options are endless.

(Ps. This album is of one of our actual weddings, not a mock-up.)

Blog_Jorgensen_07 Blog_Jorgensen_08  When the hinged page is fully opened, the album is 50" long!

Becky & Ian @ Sidmouth Beach

SATURDAY, 13 MARCH 2010

Over the weekend we met up with Becky and Ian to do a pre-wedding shoot on Sidmouth beach. It was a return journey of nearly 350 miles but Becky and Ian managed to pick the first sunny weekend of the year!

Judith and I arrived on Friday afternoon to check the place out as we'd never been to Sidmouth and didn't know what to expect. The difference between high and low tide is much more than expected and we had to abandon several ideas when they had disappeared under water on Saturday morning.

Blog_Becky_Ian_1 We met up for a coffee before the shoot and for a moment I thought they were going to do a runner as soon as they spotted my camera.

The Wedding of Denise & Simon

4 DECEMBER 2009

Denise and Simon would have been happy enough if it didn't rain, so it was a nice surprise to wake up and see a blue sky after a week of dull weather! Their Civil Ceremony took place in the Great Hall of Dunchurch Park Hotel near Rugby. Despite being sunny, it is still December and hence, a bit chilly. This meant we could make much use the enormous grounds of Dunchurch Park, and Denise was wearing wellies when we went down to the lake for some shots. Below are a few of their wedding day. If you have the password, then go to Recent Events and have a look at many more photos of Denise and Simon's big day.

Our new Jorgensen Wedding Album (design)

We've finally managed to change Lynne & James's wedding album in to a studio sample album. Lynne & James Jorgensen wedding album design
Until now we have only offered flush mount or storybook type albums, whereby the photos are printed directly onto the pages. These type of albums give us a lot of freedom when we design our albums as there are no restrictions to the layout. However, we really fancied producing  (and offering to our couples) an 'old fashion' style wedding album which uses mats to hold the photos in place. It has taken us TWO YEARS to decide which manufacturer to go for and we have set our mind on Jorgensen because there is nothing 'old fashioned' about the quality of their albums. It is going to take a few months before we'll receive the physical album and by then we'll put some photos up here on our blogsite. You will love it.

In the meantime have a look at the design here. The album has 40 pages and is 16x12 inches in size (32x12 when opened). It is going to be all white inside, and covered in premium white leather.

Roxanne & Anthony's Jorgensen wedding album design

We have also ordered another studio album, based on Roxanne & Anthony's album. Their original album has 54 sides but our version has 40 sides. It will not be a matted album as the one above, but a flush mount album, to give people who visit us the option to compare the two versions and make a better informed decision. View this one here.

Janet & Andy's Wedding @ Dodmoor House

31 OCTOBER 2009

"How many arguments have Janet & Andy had over the wedding preparations?" That was one of the Quiz questions Janet and Andy had set for their wedding guests to determine who are their best friends. As an alternative to having speeches, each of their three Best Men had to play the part of Quiz Master, in between the Wedding Breakfast.

The Quiz theme was carried on after the Breakfast with a Prestige Fun Casino, providing a Roulette and Black Jack table. It was a perfect way of keeping the guests entertained while the breakfast room was converted into a dancefloor. Dodmoor House only allows for one wedding per day, giving everyone free reign of the buildings and created a really relaxed and intimate event.

Kerry & Dan's Pre-wedding shoot @ Bolsover Castle

20 OCTOBER 2009

Kerry & Dan only booked us last month and their wedding is not till July next year but they had last week off and couldn't guarantee they would have any more days to spare. But we're flexible and we took the first opportunity (read: good weather) that came around. And an added advantage of shooting on a weekday is that there are not too many people about.

Kelly & Dan had given us three different venues to choose from for their engagement photos and we went for Bolsover Castle as we had not been there before. It has loads of different 'backdrops' for us to choose from, inside and outside. In case you are looking for a special wedding venue; the castle dates back to the 12th century and is rented out by English Heritage.

Roxanne and Anthony's Wedding

MONDAY, 21 SEPTEMBER 2009

A few more of Roxanne & Anthony's fairytale wedding of earlier this month.

We received a nice Thank You card from them when they came to pick up their wedding album.

"Thank you so much for our beautiful wedding photos. We couldn't wish for anything more perfect         than the way you captured our special day to look back on and cherish forever.
They are really something special, showing all the little details of the day that made

it personal to us. You worked fantastically and discreetly on the day getting plenty of 'natural'
shots which are the best and we love them!!
Thanks again ~ we will be sure to recommend you to anyone getting married that we know!                Love Roxanne & Anthony    xxxx"

No photos! I haven't done my makeup
